    Methodology

    MHC sequencing of 11 patients with Polygonum multiflorum drug-induced liver injury, an independent replication set of 15 PM-DILI patients, 33 other-DILI patients and 99 population controls, plus a prospective cohort of 72 outpatients receiving the herb

    Key Findings

    Carriage of HLA-B*35:01 strongly increased the risk of Polygonum multiflorum-induced liver injury and performed as a predictive biomarker.

    Conclusions

    Fo-Ti hepatotoxicity is an immune-mediated idiosyncratic reaction concentrated in genetically susceptible people.
