Key Findings
Carriage of HLA-B*35:01 strongly increased the risk of Polygonum multiflorum-induced liver injury and performed as a predictive biomarker.
Conclusions
Fo-Ti hepatotoxicity is an immune-mediated idiosyncratic reaction concentrated in genetically susceptible people.

Small case numbers; Han Chinese population; allele testing not routinely available.
