    Review of the ethnopharmacology, chemistry and clinical studies of Arctium lappa.

    Key Findings

    Burdock root contains arctiin, arctigenin, chlorogenic acid and inulin with documented antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antidiabetic activity, but human clinical studies remain few and small.

    Conclusions

    Preclinical support for burdock is broad while clinical evidence is preliminary.
