Published in Archives of Neurology
Abstract
Multicenter randomized trial of ethyl-eicosapentaenoic acid in mild-to-moderate Huntington disease.
Methodology
Double-blind placebo-controlled six-month phase followed by an open-label extension.
Key Findings
Ethyl-EPA did not improve motor, functional, cognitive, or global outcomes during placebo-controlled evaluation.
Conclusions
Ethyl-EPA was not beneficial over six months in Huntington disease.
Limitations
Older trial; the open-label extension cannot establish long-term efficacy; duration or dose may have been insufficient.
Supplements Studied
