How to Measure
There is no clinical test. Research settings measure autophagic flux by LC3-II conversion and p62 degradation in tissue biopsies or peripheral blood mononuclear cells, ideally with lysosomal inhibitors to distinguish induction from blocked clearance. In practice, people track proxies of the fasted state such as beta-hydroxybutyrate rather than autophagy itself.
